DUPĂ DOISPREZECE ANI

    (mamei, care a plecat din această lume în ziua de 24 septembrie 2004)

 

După doisprezece ani

De la plecarea ta spre alte porturi

Eu înţeleg de ce

N-am vărsat vreo lacrimă,

Ştiind că mă părăseşti…

Am înţeles că, din acea clipă

Ai început să locuieşti în mine,

În cap, trup şi inimă,

Gânduri sau obiceiuri…

După doisprezece ani

Mă simt puternic,

Nu plâng, ci zâmbesc,

Mă privesc şi te văd,

Pe tine, iubită mamă.

 

TWELVE YEARS LATER

       (To my mother who left this world on the 24^th of September 2004)

                       

Twelve years after your

departure to other harbour

I understood why

I did not shed any tear

at your going away…

I understood that from that

instant

You began to inhabit me

head, body, heart,

thoughts and tics…

Twelve years later

I feel strong

I do not cry, but smile,

I look at myself and see you

my beloved mother.
