EMINESCU

One morning
God woke up in a good mood and full of joy!
He locked up the wind and tempest in the pantry,
Chased away the clouds
Switched the power off for the lightning
He stopped the eartquackes
And extinguished the fires fom under volcanoes!
That day
Was not a day to make impostors
False prophets
Mercenaries
Terrorists
Executioners…
That day
God needed peace and quiet
The time came to impart
Trades to the Romanians!
So, he made Brancuși a stone-mason
Năstase – a tennis player
Vlaicu – a flyer
Grigorescu – a painter
Enescu – muician
Hagi – a footbal-player.
He did not forget about Mrs. Alsan
Or about Miss.Comaneci…
He did not forget about anybody!
He worked to the end of the day
To make averybody happy!
Towards the evening,
In the glimering light of the sters
In order to declare his work finished
He created the poet,
He made Eminescu!
EMINESCU
Într-o dimineaţă,
Dumnezeu s-a sculat vesel şi binedispus!
A închis vântul și stihiile în cămară,
a alungat norii,
a scos din priză fulgerele,
a oprit cutremurele şi valurile
şi a stins focul sub cazanele vulcanilor!
În ziua aceea
nu se făceau impostori,
nici falși profeți,
nici mercenari…
nici terorişti,
nici călăi…
În ziua aceea
Dumnezeu avea nevoie
De linişte şi pace!
Venise vremea să împartă
meseriile la români!
Pe Brâncuşi l-a făcut pietrar,
pe Ţiriac, jucător de tenis,
pe Vlaicu, zburător,
pe Grigorescu, zugrav,
pe Enescu, muzicant,
pe Hagi, fotbalist.
N-a uitat-o nici pe doamna Aslan,
nici pe domnişoara Comăneci…
N-a uitat pe nimeni!
A tot lucrat pân’ la sfârşitul zilei,
ca să-i mulţumească pe toţi!
Spre seară,
la lumina luceferilor,
pentru a-şi desăvârşi lucrarea,
a creat poetul,
pe Eminescu!
